Regarding install analysis service

Hi Guys,
I am new in analysis service. I just installed analysis service in my
personal computer that has a sql server enterprise installed. When I opened
analysis manager and try to open the server in the left pane, I got error
that no register sql server or it is not in the olap group(roughly, I cannot
remember clearly), then server icon because red(closed). it seems like I
couldn't connect to database server. But it is same server and of cause I
have already register this server. What is wrong with this? Thanks.
it would help if 'clearly' and not 'roughly' took the time to post the full
error and in return we will 'clearly' answer your question!
It sounds to me the user account you are logged on as isn't in the OlapAdmin
group. Add your logged on account to this group and it should do the trick.

|||You will get this behavior if you are trying to run an earlier version of
Analysis Services 2000 on Win XP Pro. If this is the case, you need to
upgrade both SQL Server 2000 and As 2000 to SP4. Search the MSKB for
details.

reg. Installation

Hi all,
I have sql 2000 client installed, with msde and sp 3a.
I am trying to install sql reporting beta version. The
installation abruptly terminates stating 'The setup need
sql server 8 or above with sp 3 installed'. Can anyone
help me in this issue asap.

order to install Reporting Services.

Refresh problem after installing MSDE

Hi,
After installing a MSDE instance, in the Servcie Manager I don't see the
server I've just installed. But if I enter the name of the instance in
Service Manager, I can acces it and then start/pause/stop it. If I reboot
the PC, the server will not start even if the checkbox in Service Manager is
check. In Service Manager, I see no server again. Seems the system can't see
the server but it is here and I can access it manually since I know the
name.
I have found nothing avout this problem for the moment.

|||After reading this, the Sql Server is "started" and "automatically" in the
services. But in the systray, the Service Manager doesn't have a green
arrow. It's just full white.
If I open the Service Manager, type the Sql Server instance name and hit
the button "refresh services ..." then I can see the instance. I must do
this each time after I boot the computer.
